CMK Street Warden Helps Keep the City Centre Clean

The CMK Street Warden, Rob Harriman, has been hard at work across the city centre over recent weeks, addressing important issues such as graffiti, antisocial behaviour, maintenance and community engagement. In January 2015 alone, the Warden logged 62 highways/maintenance issues and 40 graffiti issues, with the majority of these being actioned shortly after.
When funding was cut for street wardens in Milton Keynes last year, CMK Town Council and Milton Keynes City Centre Management joined forces to make sure this vital service was kept for CMK. While the wardens previously covered the whole city, Rob’s work is focused on the city centre, and he monitors every part of CMK from the station to Campbell Park.

Another area of the Warden’s work is in strengthening community engagement in Central Milton Keynes. Rob is working with CMK Town Council and local residents’ groups to create a new CMK residents’ forum, bringing together local groups from across the city centre to tackle issues that affect everyone. The CMK Warden works closely with local residents, businesses and with Thames Valley Police in the course of his work.
