Town Council Welcomes New Assistant Clerk & Communications Officer
The Town Council is pleased to announce the appointment of a new Assistant Clerk and Communications Officer, Thomas Walker. Born and raised in Milton Keynes, he brings a strong passion for the city and its future development.
Thomas joins us as a postgraduate university student, bringing the experience of his academic background to the Town Council. He will be taking responsibility for improving communication with the community, particularly through the Town Council website and the quarterly newsletter.
He has been actively involved in the future of the city centre for many years, striving to see it develop to its fullest potential. While studying in other towns and cities, he describes how he often had to defend Milton Keynes, saying “I’d hear so much from people about what they thought of the city, talking about roundabouts and concrete cows. All that would invariably change when I brought them here and showed them the city and everything it has to offer.”
In his spare time, Thomas is a keen transport enthusiast and photographer. His interests in public transport and urban planning give him an intimate knowledge of the city’s transport networks. Some of his transport photography can be seen here.
Thomas says, “I am excited to be joining the Town Council and look forward to contributing to its work on behalf of CMK residents.”
