Office Blocks Demolished for New Flats

Two office blocks on Silbury Boulevard, one of which previously housed the CMK Job Centre Plus, have now been completely demolished to make way for the 809/811 Silbury Boulevard housing scheme.

The works are taking place at the same time as construction is continuing on both the John Lewis multi-storey car park across the road, and the MK gallery expansion works on the other side of thecentre:mk. This has created the sight of three different construction projects all happening in the same area of CMK at once, a scene which has not been seen in the city centre for over a decade.

CMK Town Council is actively working with the developers to ensure that the original CMK infrastructure around the new development, including the black porte cochere structure and the granite planter structures, are protected and retained as the work progresses.

Do you have any idea when the Silbury Boulevard development is likely to be completed?

Hello Daniel – We haven’t been given a completion date as such, but the road closure in front of the development runs until March 2019, so it’s likely that they’re expecting to complete it within that timeframe. Otherwise they’ll need to apply for a further road closure. Regards, Thomas.

Thank you for your response. I am trying to get a gauge on when these properties are likely to be available for reservation. I’ve contacted the various stakeholders but am yet to receive a reply.
