Walking with Giants Parade
The successful Walking With Giants parade returns this year, with a vibrant street parade including stilt walkers, dance and live music, along with the festival's incredible giant puppets and sculptures. In connection with this year's commemoration of the centenary of the First World War, the parade will also include a life-size bicycle-powered wooden WWI tank. There will be a meeting of the Council at 6pm at Centrecom Meeting Place. Members of the public are welcome and will be given an opportunity at the beginning of the meeting to make statements on issues on the agenda or other matters relating to the parish of Central Milton Keynes. Anyone who lives or works in CMK is invited to take part in the 'Love Where You Live' Spring Clean, taking place on Tuesday 14 July. Activities will include litter picking and repainting street furniture, such as benches and bollards. The group will meet at the McDonalds Xscape branch, ready to leave at 12pm. The World Picnic is an annual one-day festival to celebrate music, dance and cultures around the world. It has its own decicated Facebook page, where you can find more information and updates. The organising group are cuurently looking for cultural performers to take part in this year's World Picnic. This friendly, informal exhibition tour is for blind and partially sighted visitors, as well as their carers, family members and friends. Guide dogs are welcome. The next "Love Where You Live" spring clean, much larger than eve before, will take place on Friday 7 August, beginning at 10am.
