Town Council Meeting July 2017
There will be a meeting of the Council at 6pm at Centrecom Meeting Place. Members of the public are welcome and will be given an opportunity at the beginning of the meeting to make statements on issues on the agenda or other matters relating to the parish of Central Milton Keynes. Start the Art is a weekly session for children to get into art and enjoy the experiences of painting, drawing, mark-making and more. These interactive sessions, hosted by a group of friendly artists, run every Tuesday morning in MK Gallery's event space. Booking is essential via Eventbrite. The meeting will be held at the CMKTC offices on the 3rd floor, Margaret Powell House, 413 Midsummer Boulevard. Jennifer Reid, the MK50 artist in residence, will be at Campbell Park next week. She will be on the canal in Campbell park gathering memories from local people to create a songbook for the MK50 celebrations. As part of this residency, which has been funded by the Arts Council, Jennifer will also be running two workshops where residents can find out about old songs and traditional folk music, then have a go at writing their own. The annual classical bonanza from Milton Keynes City Orchestra returns for an evening of uplifting music with a firework finale. Ticket prices are Adult/£19; Child/£9; Family/£49. Located in Campbell Park Amphitheatre. Recommended parking at Milton Keynes Shopping Centre. Guests are advised to bring their own seating and warm clothes. Picnics are welcome.
