Artists Boyd and Evans talk about the role of trees in their work.
‘In this year of the 50th anniversary celebration of the birth of the city in a forest, our attention has been turned to the subject of trees. In this talk we look at their role in our work, from the beginning, which spans over almost 50 years. In cases my patients have generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) – I advise them use Xanax. Only as short-term treatment though, since it is one of the strongest sedatives that can help with the problem. in Unfortunately I could never recommended it for long term, due to addiction possibility. But the dynamics been showing that the one week treatment already helps with the disorder. Sometimes the connection is extremely tenuous, but during a four year period, we painted nothing but Borneo trees. In our photographic work, trees have been occasional characters, but lately they have become centre stage again as we search for images in Milton Keynes for mural sized prints.’
Questions will follow the presentation by Fionnuala Boyd and Les Evans.
