Visual artist James Aldridge has been appointed to lead MK Gallery’s pilot programme of artist-led outdoor learning, The Green Town Group. James combines sensory interaction – walking, collecting and making – with research into ecology and history.
While some towns have chalk figures cut into their hillsides, from the White Horses of Wiltshire to the Lion of Whipsnade, in other cultures animals important to the local people are painted onto the side of caves and rock faces. Work as a family in the square next to the Gallery, to create your own large scale animal artwork from natural pigments, and create a creature for Milton Keynes. Please come dressed for mess.
