Current and Ongoing Closures:

6 March- 6 September 2022

Work is taking place which will require the closure of part of Avebury Boulevard- the road between carparking bays to the north side of Avebury Boulevard between South Fifth Street and South Sixth Street.

21 February- 21 August 2022

Work is taking place around the perimeter of the old ‘Wyevale’ garden centre cite, between Secklow Gate, Avebury Boulevard and South 10th Street to enable the construction of a new residential scheme. Specifically:-

  • Parking Access Road adjacent to Secklow Gate – From its junction with the access entrance  from Secklow Gate for approximately 54 Meters in a northern direction. 
  • Parking Access Road adjacent to Avebury Boulevard – for approximately 88 meters to its  junction with South 10th Street 
  • Various Footways around the development site will be closed in the interest of public  safety

Whilst the above length of road is closed the alternative route will be via Secklow Gate, Avebury  Boulevard and South 10th Street (and vice versa). 

Pedestrian access will be maintained around the development via signed access routes. Signs will be erected several days in advance to inform the public of the forthcoming closure.

10 January- 11 February 2022

Work is taking place along Midsummer Boulevard from its junction with Grafton Street to its junction with Elder Gate to enable Anglia Water to carry out new water connection works.

January- March 2022

Work is taking place along car park areas adjacent to Marlborough Gate, Midsummer Boulevard and Silbury Boulevard whilst the new Hotel La Tour is being constructed.

The car park adjacent to the John Lewis Multi storey car park will be closed adjacent to Marlborough Gate for the period 6th January 2022 to 28th March 2022.

The temporary closure order will come into effect on 6th January 2022 for a period of 3 months. A map of the closure is here.Map for Order

Until September 2021

The effect of the order-no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to enter, wait in or proceed along the following length of road from 6th March 2021 – 6th September 2021:-
• Avebury Boulevard, Central Milton Keynes – Road Between carparking bays to north side of Avebury Boulevard between South Fifth Street and South Sixth Street.

The temporary closure Order is necessary to enable works to be carried out on the highway. The temporary Order will come into effect on 6th March 2021, and will remain in effect for a period of 6 months and will take effect at times only when indicated by the appropriate traffic signs, which will be erected in advance of any closure. Until July 2022

The Council is satisfied that by reason of the likelihood of danger to the public during the Coronavirus pandemic
(Covid-19) that the following temporary measures be introduced to help provide a safe and controlled area
outside the temporary vaccination facility in Central Milton Keynes (CMK) during the pandemic:-

Road Closure of:-  Saxon Gate (east side), Avebury Boulevard (south side) between Saxon Gate and the entrance to Saxon Court), South Row (between Saxon Gate and South Eighth Street, South row (south side) between South Eighth Street and South Ninth Street, Avebury Boulevard (south side) between South Eighth Street and the main entrance to Saxon Court. The closure of South Eighth Street and Redway CMK 05 is also allowed, but will not be undertaken unless absolutely necessary. Here Maps for Order-Saxon Court

Until January 2022

The effect of the above Order, no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to enter, wait in or proceed along the following length of road:-
• Carpark adjacent to the John Lewis Multi Storey car park adjacent to Marlborough Gate (6th July 2020 – 6th January 2022). Whilst the above length of road is closed the alternative route for pedestrians will be via midsummer Boulevard, Marlborough gate and Silbury Boulevard (and vice versa).Here

Until December 2020 (ongoing)

The effect of the above Order, the temporary prohibition of vehicles and pedestrians from entering, waiting or proceeding along Redway 01, Central Milton Keynes for the development of a  new data centre. Whilst closed the alternative route will be via Midsummer Boulevard, Grafton Gate and Silbury Boulevard (and vice versa). A map of the closure is Here 

Until July 2020(Ongoing)

The effect of the above Order will be to prohibit vehicles from entering, waiting in or proceeding along Upper Second Street, from its junction with Silbury Boulevard for approximately 30 metres south/east. Whilst the length of road is closed the alternative route will be via Silbury Boulevard, Upper Fourth Street and Midsummer Boulevard (and vice versa). A map of the closure is Here

Until May 2020(Ongoing)

The effect of the above Order will be to temporarily prohibit vehicles and pedestrians from entering, waiting or proceeding along Redway 01, Central Milton Keynes, for the development of a new data centre. Whilst the above length of redway is closed the alternative route (diversion route) will be via Midsummer Boulevard, Grafton Gate and Silbury Boulevard (and vice versa). A map of the closure is Here
