Community Facilities

Most parishes offer ‘community facilities’ for their residents – community halls and meeting places, sport pitches, play parks, etc. These facilities have come about in a number of ways, but historically they have been funded by Milton Keynes Council (MKC) and more recently by developers, under planning obligations known as Section 106 (S106) agreements.  Under the Localism Act 2011, many existing community facilities are being transferred to local parish and town councils to manage and fund long-term maintenance and repairs.

The CMK Town Council is currently reviewing S106 funds that are available in our area and identifying opportunities and needs for new community facilities.  This work will be a major focus for our new Projects Officer in 2015.
