Milton Keynes: Building a Dream

Thu, 9 November 2017 @ 19:00 - 21:00

- £3

Lee Shostak will present his provisional conclusions from his book on the development of Milton Keynes.
John Walker and David Lock will then offer their observations.

Lee moved to Stony Stratford in 1972 to write a history of the city’s early years. As actual construction had
barely started, He placed the book on hold and worked for Milton Keynes Development Corporation until
1980. He then practiced as an economic development consultant for many communities in England, Scotland
and Wales. In 2016 he was a member of the Milton Keynes 2050 Futures Commission.

Each with almost 50 years of experience, John Walker and David Lock will bring their in-depth knowledge of
Milton Keynes and new towns generally to the task of refuting, or confirming, Lee’s key conclusions.
Lee’s publisher now expects him to submit the manuscript for his book next year.

As part of his research, Milton Keynes Gallery and the Fred Roche Foundation are pleased to offer Lee the
opportunity to present his views, discuss them with John and David and then with the wider audience.
A discussion will follow Lee’s presentation.
